Bumper Scuff Repair, Respray or Replacement?

There are three ways to fix a damaged bumper. The right one depends on how much of it is damaged.

Bumper scuff repair. For scuffs, scratches and chips in one area, usually a corner. The damaged area is prepared, painted and lacquered, then finished so it blends with the surrounding paint. This is the quickest and cheapest option.

Bumper respray. For damage that runs across the bumper, or paint that has faded or started to peel. The whole bumper is prepared and resprayed, so the colour and finish are even from one side to the other.

Replacement bumper. For bumpers that are cracked, split or holed. We don’t repair cracked plastic, so if the bumper can’t be saved we fit a replacement and paint it to match your car.

Our Bumper Repair Process

1. Assess the damage. We check the bumper and the clips and brackets behind it, then give you a fixed price before any work starts.

2. Prepare the surface. The bumper is cleaned and degreased, damaged paint is sanded back and deep scrapes are filled and smoothed.

3. Prime. Any bare plastic is primed so the new paint bonds properly and doesn’t peel later.

4. Colour match and paint. Paint is mixed to your car’s colour code and applied in thin coats, followed by lacquer for protection and shine.

5. Cure, polish and check. The paint is cured and polished, and the bumper is checked for fit and finish before you collect the car.
