Van and Fleet Body Repairs in Oldham

Vans take a lot of knocks. Tight loading bays, kerbs, reversing and the odd runaway trolley mean most fleets pick up scrapes faster than anyone gets round to fixing them. Left alone, a scuffed door becomes a rusty one, and a kerbed wheel makes a van look neglected whatever else is going on with the business.

Volksmaster repairs the bodywork, paint and alloy wheels of vans, company cars and mixed fleets at our workshop at 387 Ashton Road, Oldham. Send us photos of the damage and we’ll quote for every vehicle in one go. Most repairs are finished the same day, so a van dropped off in the morning is usually back with you that day.

  • Van and company car bodywork repaired
  • Kerbed and scuffed alloy wheels refurbished

Which Businesses Use Our Van and Fleet Repair Service?

Fleet of company vans parked in a row

Company vans

Any business that relies on its vehicles looking presentable and holding their value will get something out of it. Typical customers include:

  • Delivery and courier firms: vans that spend the day in loading bays, estates and car parks collect scuffs quickly.
  • Trades, construction and landscaping companies: work vans pick up dents and scratches from tools, ladders and tight sites.
  • Hire and rental companies: damaged vehicles go back into the rota instead of sitting in the yard.
  • Dealers and leasing companies: cosmetic damage is repaired before sale or hand-back. Our end of lease repairs page covers returns in more detail.
  • Retail, events and service businesses: a clean, undamaged van is part of the brand.
  • Fleet managers: one workshop for a mixed fleet of vans and cars, with a single quote for the lot.

Why Keep Fleet Bodywork in Good Order?

Small damage gets bigger. A scratch or chip that breaks the paint lets moisture in, and rust costs far more to put right than a repair done early.

Hand-backs and resale. Leased and hired vehicles are inspected on return, and dealers sell on appearance. Cosmetic damage is one of the easiest ways to lose money on a vehicle at either end.

Image. The van is often the first thing a customer sees. A crumpled corner or a kerbed wheel says something about the business before anyone has spoken to it.

SMART Repair or Body Shop Repair?

A SMART repair fixes damage to part of a panel rather than replacing or respraying the whole thing. It suits scratches, scuffs, minor dents and kerbed wheels, which covers most everyday fleet damage. Heavier damage goes through our full body shop service, including accident repairs and insurance work. Our guide to how SMART repair differs from body shop repair explains where the line falls.

Everything is done in our workshop rather than at the roadside, so the paint can be matched and finished in controlled conditions. See our main car body shop repairs page for the full range.

What Types Of Damage Can Be Repaired?

Vans and company cars pick up damage in the same few places: loading bays, kerbs, rear doors and car parks. This is what we repair on a working fleet:

Van & Panel Bodywork

  • Scratches and scuffs on doors and sides
  • Dents in sliding doors and side panels
  • Bumper and corner scrapes
  • Stone chips on the bonnet and front
  • Rear door knocks from reversing

Alloy Wheel Repairs

  • Kerbed and scuffed alloys
  • Scrapes and gouges on the rim edge
  • Flaking lacquer and corrosion
  • Diamond cut alloy repairs
  • Full sets refurbished to match

Paint & Larger Repairs

Alloy Wheel Repair for Vans and Company Cars

Wheels take the worst of it on a working fleet. Kerbs, potholes and tight loading areas leave scrapes and gouges on the rim edge, and neglected wheels start to corrode under the lacquer. We repair and refinish alloys in the workshop, so every wheel on the vehicle comes back looking the same.

Light scuffs are refinished. Deeper damage is filled, sanded, painted and lacquered to match. Wheels that are cracked or badly bent need assessing first, and some cannot be repaired safely. Our alloy wheel repairs and Oldham alloy wheel repair and refurbishment pages have the detail, and our guides to common alloy wheel problems and alloy wheel scuffs explain what can be fixed and why. If a vehicle needs wheels and bodywork done together, we can do both on the same visit: see alloy wheel and bodywork repair.

The best repair shop I have used in over 40 years of motoring, including repair centres I have used for family. The smart repairs are superb and so far I have been unable to spot any difference from a full body shop. So far they have also saved me a fortune.

Van and Fleet Repair FAQs

Do you still repair vehicles at our premises?

No. We no longer have a mobile service, and all repairs are carried out in our workshop at 387 Ashton Road, Oldham. That lets us paint and finish bodywork in controlled conditions, away from the weather. Vehicles are dropped off on a weekday morning.

How long will a van be off the road?

Most repairs are completed the same day. Drop the vehicle off between 8am and 10am or between 10am and 12pm, and it is usually ready for collection that day. Larger jobs take longer, and we will tell you how long when we send your quote. We are closed at weekends and on bank holidays.

Can you quote for several vehicles at once?

Yes. Upload photos of the damage using the quote form and tell us how many vehicles need work. We price everything together and send you one fixed quote within 48 hours.

Do you repair vans of any size?

We repair vehicles of every make and size, with no size limit. We are a VAG specialist, so Volkswagen Group vans are familiar territory, but we work on all makes.

Do you repair alloy wheels on vans and company cars?

Yes. Kerbed, scuffed and corroded alloys are repaired and refinished in our workshop. Light scuffs are refinished and deeper gouges are filled, painted and lacquered. Cracked or badly bent wheels need assessing first, because some cannot be repaired safely. See our alloy wheel repairs page for more.

How are dents in van panels repaired?

The dent is repaired and the panel is refinished to match the surrounding paint, which also protects the metal from rust. Our dent repair page has the detail, and our guide to which dents and scratches can be SMART repaired helps you judge a particular mark. Heavier damage goes through our accident repair service.

Can you match the colour of our vehicles?

Yes. Paint is mixed to your vehicle’s colour code and blended into the surrounding panel so the repair does not show.

Can you repair damage before a leased or hired vehicle goes back?

Yes. Scratches, scuffs, dents and kerbed alloys can be put right before hand-back, which helps you avoid damage charges at inspection. See our end of lease repairs page.

Should we claim on insurance or pay for the repair ourselves?

We handle insurance work, so either route is possible. For minor damage the repair can cost less than your excess, and a claim may affect your premium or no-claims discount, so it is worth comparing the two before you decide. Our guide to repairing minor damage instead of claiming explains the trade-off. Send us photos and we will quote, so you have a figure to compare.

How much do van and fleet repairs cost?

There is no standard price, because it depends on the type and size of the damage and how many vehicles need work. Send us photos through the quote form and we will send a free, fixed quote within 48 hours.

How do we pay?

Payment is taken at the workshop when you collect the vehicle. We do not take payment online.
