After 30 years of serving motorists, family-run automotive business Volksmaster Group is beginning a new chapter with a commitment to give back to the communities around it.

To mark its 30th anniversary, Volksmaster has launched the Volksmaster Community Commitment, a long-term initiative focused on creating meaningful and sustainable community impact.

With the vision of “Driving Stronger Communities Forward,” the programme will build partnerships with local organisations and use the people, resources, experience and platforms already within the business to support the community.

Turning Family Values into Community Impact

For founder and director Mike McDonald, the 30th anniversary is more than a celebration of the past. It is an opportunity to consider what the next chapter of the business should stand for.

The Community Commitment reflects the values that have shaped Volksmaster since its early days — trust, responsibility, hard work and a belief in developing people.

Starting with Youth Development and Mental Health Care

The programme will initially focus on two areas that are particularly important to Volksmaster: Youth Development and Mental Health.

Youth Development is the first priority, reflecting the family’s long-standing belief in giving young people the guidance, confidence and opportunities they need to build a positive future. The company has experienced first-hand how education, coaching, responsibility and opportunity can help young people develop both personally and professionally.

For Volksmaster Director Ryan McDonald, this belief is also reflected in his own experience volunteering as a youth football coach in Oldham.

Mental Health is the programme’s second priority, recognising that stronger communities are built not only through opportunity, but also through connection, support and wellbeing.
Volksmaster aims to understand local needs and develop meaningful partnerships with organisations working in these areas. By sharing its resources, expertise and community platforms, the business hopes to support their work while helping raise awareness of the issues that matter.

A Baby Step for Volksmaster. A Big Step Towards Giving Back.

Volksmaster knows it cannot address every community challenge on its own. But as a local business with an established customer base, employees, physical locations and community connections, it can help bring people together and create a ripple effect.

At the heart of the Community Commitment is a simple idea: the customer can become part of the commitment too. The programme is designed to turn an everyday customer journey into an opportunity to play an active role in supporting the community.

By connecting what Volksmaster already does every day with community support, every eligible customer has the opportunity to join hands with Volksmaster in making a difference.

The ambition is not for Volksmaster to do everything alone, but to create a platform where different stakeholders can contribute what they can and, together, make a bigger difference.
