Power, Performance and Prestige: Latest News from the VAG

What’s coming next from Volkswagen, Audi and the rest of the Group? Let’s get you revved up with the latest news straight from the world of VAG, focusing on the powerful petrol and diesel models, innovative technology and exciting design upgrades that are most likely to turn heads on UK roads.

Volkswagen: Bringing Back the Roar with the New Golf R and GTI Clubsport

VW GTI Clubsport 2024

The iconic Golf gets a double dose of adrenaline with the recent launch of the all-new Golf R and GTI Clubsport. We’re talking pure, unadulterated driving pleasure. The Golf R, now in its most powerful iteration ever, boasts a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing a phenomenal 333 PS (245 kW).

This translates to a thrilling 0-62mph sprint in just 4.6 seconds, making it a true pocket rocket. But performance isn’t just about power. The R also benefits from a reworked 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system for exceptional handling and grip, perfect for tearing up those winding country roads.

The GTI Clubsport isn’t far behind in the excitement department. Its 2.0-litre turbo delivers a very respectable 300 PS (221 kW), pushing you from 0-62mph in a brisk 5.3 seconds. It retains the front-wheel-drive layout that purists love, combined with a limited-slip differential for precise cornering and that classic hot hatch feel. Both models feature a host of performance upgrades, including sharper steering, larger brakes and sportier suspension setups. Visually, they stand out with aggressive body kits, aerodynamic add-ons and signature R and GTI design cues.

Audi: Raising the Bar with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

Audi is renowned for its cutting-edge technology and their latest advancements in driver assistance systems (DAS) are truly impressive. The all-new A4 and A5, which are expected to hit UK showrooms later this year, will come equipped with the next generation of Audi’s Traffic Jam assist. This system not only maintains a safe distance and speed in stop-go traffic, but can now also handle lane changes semi-autonomously, taking the stress out of congested commutes.

Audi Advanced Driver Assistance System

Looking for even more advanced assistance? The upcoming Q8 will boast the enhanced Adaptive Cruise Assist with Emergency Lane Assist. This system combines adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, not only adapting your speed to the flow of traffic but also actively steering you back into your lane should you inadvertently stray. It also features an emergency lane change function, which, in certain situations, can automatically guide you to a safe lane if it detects an impending collision.

These are just a few examples of Audi’s commitment to making driving safer and less stressful for UK drivers. It’s important to remember that these systems are designed to assist, not replace, your judgement behind the wheel.

Škoda: Combining Practicality with Style in the New Kodiaq

New Škoda Kodiaq

Škoda has always been known for its spacious and practical vehicles and the recently unveiled Kodiaq facelift stays true to that tradition. The exterior gets a refresh with a bolder grille, sharper headlights, and redesigned bumpers, giving it a more modern and assertive stance. Inside, the Kodiaq gets a significant tech upgrade with a new, larger touchscreen infotainment system that seamlessly integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

But Škoda hasn’t forgotten about families on the go. The Kodiaq retains its impressive cargo space and versatile seating arrangements, making it the perfect companion for weekend adventures or long road trips with the whole crew. Additionally, a range of powerful and fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines ensures you have the power and range you need to conquer any journey.

SEAT: Injecting Sporty Style into Everyday Driving with the New Leon

New SEAT Leon

SEAT brings its signature blend of sporty style and everyday practicality to the table with the refreshed Leon. This popular hatchback gets a sharper look with redesigned front and rear ends, while retaining the bold and dynamic lines that have made it a favourite amongst UK drivers. The interior receives a tech boost with a digital instrument cluster and a larger infotainment touchscreen.

The Leon continues to offer a diverse range of engine options, from efficient petrol and diesel units to the ever-popular FR performance variants. The flagship Leon Cupra remains the hot hatch hero for those seeking an exhilarating driving experience. Expect a powerful engine pushing out over 300 PS, a sport-tuned suspension setup and a more aggressive design package.
